"SCARS" is a photobook by photographer Jiro Konami. It documents Konami’s time following SCARS, a crew consisting of A-THUG, SEEDA, STICKY, and others, whose influence has had a significant impact on both the Japanese hip-hop scene and BlackEyePatch. In the mid-2000s, they embodied a U.S.-influenced hustler style that had not previously existed in Japanese hip-hop. The book captures their presence, together with the atmosphere and era that surrounded them, creating a documentary portrait of their world.
